40 Years of Service

Our story goes back to 1983 when two teachers Bob Lock and the late Murray Guest extended student’s classroom learning ‘through the soles of their feet’ trekking in the Himalaya.

In 2005 a group trekking in Ladakh met SEWA social welfare association who expressed their dream to build a nursery school for 3-5 year old children unable to access traditional Ladakh early childhood education. On return the group embraced SEWA’s vision and formalized CETOP – Cranbrook Explorers and Travellers Overseas Partnership as a public company.

On 31st October 2007 Shara Nursery School opened to 25 young 3-5 year olds and today our story continues to unfold.
